Apparently the nominees have to have been heard of by a fair amount of people. For example, the winner of that Grammy, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Esperanza_Spalding\" target=\"_blank\">Esperanza Spalding<\/a>, is hardly a new artist. She has released three albums under her own name, the first of which came out in 2006. That&#8217;s 5 years ago! A nominee,\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Drake_(entertainer)#Music_career\" target=\"_blank\">Drake<\/a>, has released music as early as 2006. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Florence_and_the_Machine_discography\" target=\"_blank\">Florence &amp; The Machine<\/a> released singles in 2008. (Granted, it was in the UK, so how can we be expected to know about that?) <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mumford_%26_Sons#Early_years:_2007.E2.80.932008\" target=\"_blank\">Mumford &amp; Sons<\/a> toured the UK in early 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Some are relatively new.
